Bee meets Poppy

For some reason, the bumble bees seem more determined to visit the poppies when they closed up in the evening. More of a challenge. Once inside they buzz as if they stuck, only to reappear in no time.

This bumble buzzed me after a while, so I backed off. It was just posturing rather than being agressive. Soon went back to the poppy.

I love watching them. Regular readers please forgive me for yet another photo of a poppy. I can’t resist. They don’t last long and I am enjoying them.

Question is….did the bee make it inside in the end? I got a few similar photoes of bees last night as it happens. Love these pics. #MySundayPhoto

Yes, it did and then went on to make a racket.

Absolutely. Poppies are part of the lazy summer scene, for sure.

Thanks Sharon. I’d forgotten I’d sprinkled the seeds in that part of the garden.

Funny how some years they seem to go into hiding, then pop up when you least expect them.

Poppies are so pretty – funny they like to go in when closed.

I loved these large poppies when we had our allotment, you just never knew where they were going to pop up each year as they seeded so easily.

Busy busy bee…I watched and photographed a busy bee visiting a peony in my garden and it went into the petals around the outside. Until then I had no idea that there was pollen stored there. These bee’s really know their stuff!
Great captures and beautiful poppies 😉

We have a strong affection for ‘humbly bumbles’ and the poppies look gorgeous.

Love that photo – the bee actually looks like he’s opening the rose up to get into it!
