Time in the garden

riding bike in orchardWhat a beautiful day! The sun shone and there was blue sky. Eldest had a lunchtime garden party (yes, my children have a far better social life than me), so the rest of the family made the most of the good weather by spending time in the garden.

There were a few games of hockey…..using cricket bats. riding bike in orchard tooFirst cut of the grass, meant it was easier to cycle round the garden.

sowing pumpkin seedsSeeds were sown. Frisbees were thrown.

  1. Today there was sunshine and boy did it recharge the batteries. I’ve had a reasonable stressful couple of months and this really was lovely. We went out to our local park and did an organised “egg hunt”. It’s in quotation marks because you don’t really hunt eggs in these things anymore do you? It’s all follow the clues, hand in sheet, get egg.

    Still it was fun.

  2. How beautiful and what a gorgeous garden too. Enjoy the lighter evenings with our clocks going forward and hopefully lots more spring sunshine too 🙂 Visiting from #countrykids link up.

  3. Oh my a hot air balloon that close and the first butterfly. I’ve not seen one of those since last year, though I’ve spotted several bees buzzing round in the sunshine. I must say today was glorious, my kids were also out on bikes around the farm and jumping on the trampoline, far too good a day not to be out. Thank you for sharing your first day of spring on #CountryKids

    1. I’m sure my children will grow up thinking that hot air balloons are really common place. Bristol is not far away, which helps to explain it. We’ve seen a few butterflies and a handful of bumble bees. Even saw a hoverfly and mining bee, today. They are all waking up.

  4. Hooray for spring! The weather here was lovely yesterday, it’s a shame I was mainly stuck inside working! It was the first day this year we’d left our back door open and wandered in and out of the garden without coats.

    1. It was lovely. Nice to have the doors open, although the Pup decided to empty everything she could into the garden. Looking forward to more days like yesterday.

  5. Just perfect. Beautiful garden, too, so much space. We were out for much of the day yesterday, but as soon as we were home, the kids were off to play in the garden and wouldn’t come in until dinner was on the table. Lovely to see them enjoying time out there.

    1. Tell me about it. Such a different day to day. Nice to see the insects yesteday. Not much chance today. Even the birds are flying sideways.

  6. Oh, the sunshine makes all the difference, doesn’t it! We’ve had such mixed weather recently, but that has included some lovely sunny, and warm, days 🙂 More of those please!

  7. It is lovely to see blue skies, really puts me in a happy mood. Lots of lovely outdoor adventures going on, great to see.
