I may have found a good excuse to visit the lavender farm again. I could say that my friend pleaded to go. It may have had something to do with the temptation of elevensies up by the lavender fields. I might even now be able to provide an opinion on both lavender shortbread and lavender almond cake. (Let’s say it might be “Yum”. Oh and I might also admit that I bought the recipe book.)
I may have picked up a few more lavender plants. I may have found a few unusual lavenders to add to my collection.
We may have planted up a new lavender bed. Just behind the swinging bench, so the plants will be brushed as we swing. Between the seat and the honeysuckle, where there is a secret entrance and stepping stones to jump onto. Just perfect for a child to discover. Imagine the fragrance of such a garden.
We may have been dreaming of our very own lavender farm. My little lavender farmer boy and me. I may have even googled to see how many lavender plants I might need for an acre. I may have discovered that we need another 3988 plants…..oh, and an acre or two.
Actually, if it was less of a “maybe” and more of a reality, then I’d have to count the thirty lavender cuttings that are now sitting on a window sill in our cottage. That would make my lavender farm in need of 3958 plants …… oh and an acre or two. Probably a tractor…. hmmm…. and some time. Make that lots of time.

While we were there, we sampled two lavender essential oils and I was staggered about how different they smelt, but were still definitely lavender. I really don’t think I could get bored of lavender. 🙂

The lavender farm we visited is in a lovely Somerset village called Faulkland which is between Frome and Norton Radstock. Check out their website http://www.somersetlavender.com/ . Really worth a visit, if you are in the area and love lavender.
Just dreaming of a sunny day – warm enough to dry the laundry… just dreaming!!! And then we got one… cancelled school and dashed to the beach. Eight sun-drenched tired kiddos are collapsed in bed asleep!!! and all is well with the world… not the laundry so much but that would be about priorities!!!
Ahh! Wet washing and no where but the house to dry it. Brings you down to earth. Love that you could drop everything and enjoy the moment. On the beach. Your blue skies are amazing. Here’s to more sunny days.

It is a wonderful place to visit. Most of the food and drink in the cafe is lavender inspired. Makes a welcome change from the usual family fun attractions.
I had no idea different lavenders had different effects! Mine was certainly very aromatic, lol.
If you can crochet even a little you could make that teacosy, it was very simple. My advice if you come to abit you don’t understand – make it up and do your own thing rather than giving up x
I am so tempted to try the tea cosy. Yours looks fantastic! I feel inspired to do heart shaped lavender bags, as well. So much loveliness. It is amazing how different lavenders can be, but at the same time the same! I’m finding out more all the time!
I dream of bees of my own and lavender bushes for them to feed on…..and of visiting your lavender farm one day!
Nice dream! I still dream of having bees. I think they would love my lavender farm. Lack of land means that I’m more likely to achieve my bee dream. Who knows!
