BL also decorated an egg for the competition. This time I put the egg, glue and crafting supplies on the table, as she requested, then I stepped back. I did accidentally/on purpose, forget the glitter, but was soon reminded. She won a third place with this egg.
AJ enters the miniature garden class every year. She designs the garden on paper first. This year she supplied me with her shopping list as I was going to the garden centre for seeds. She dug through our boxes of seeds, leaves and shells to add to the garden, along with adding a welcome sign for Acorn Farm. Again I stood back and let her get on with it. She won a second prize for her garden.
BL added tissue paper flowers to her hat. The competition was fierce and there were a lot of fluffy chicks and cotton tail bunnies. She doesn’t seem bothered that her hat didn’t win, but is pleased with the first prize she won for her plasticine dinosaur.
I love the children to join in, but I find prize winning a tough one. My line is that it is the joining in and having fun that counts. If they do their best that is all I would ever ask of them. I think my point has got through to them. AJ said, on the way home, that the things she makes turn out best when she has fun making them. So true. I gave up on my owl camera case. I wasn’t having fun. It wasn’t working! When did my seven year old get so wise?
glitter is addictive…lol love the egg…and the garden…and the hat ! :0)
Thanks. I have put away the glitter at the bottom of their craft box. I’m trying to interest them in my growing collection of glitter glue.

Thanks for the link. I’m going to try and make these ready for easter. I might replace the knitted tail with a little white pom pom.
