Joining in GardenMama’s Wednesday wandering.
Here I stand with my feet on the pattern I’m trying to decipher. I have seen star charts that are easier to follow. I want to make the trousers that are marked in green, among the black and blue and red patterns. I need the breadth of one size and the length of another. I know I could have chosen a less challenging way to make trousers for the autumn. Oh well, tracing paper at the ready.
The evenings are cooling and occasionally I can smell the start of autumn. Our apple trees have supplied a few fallers already. This is what remains after I have processed half the crate today, making cake and stewed apple for the freezer.
TF can hardly wait to open the sweetcorn to see the corn. He is hugely excited about sweetcorn from the garden again.
So where did your feet take you today?
(By the way, I figured out the pattern in the end.)
He has good reason to be excited — fantastic sweet corn! What lovely wanderings.
Home grown sweet corn is very popular in this household. We did a smaller patch this year due to rotating the veg beds. Next year it will go in a bigger plot.
I have a friend who is the most fantastic seamstress ever. She lies on paper on the floor and traces round herself, then makes a pattern. Really!
Neat trick. She sounds very talented.
Good for you for figuring out this pattern!
We are quite taken by sweet corn these days too!
Such lovely photos! Thank you for taking part in ‘Wandering Wednesday’ I always appreciate your posts!
It takes several months after the sweetcorn harvest has finished, before the children will eat shop bought sweetcorn. Homegrown sweetcorn always wins on flavour and sweetness. I’m enjoying being part of “Wandering Wednesday”. I love seeing all the wandering feet together on the same post!
Love the socks…off to find camera..perhaps I can make it for next week ..lol
Oh Val, you must join in. Go on, find the camera.
Mmmmm … freshly picked sweetcorn, nothing like it xx
Great fabric amd socks too!
Eaten as soon as possible.
I am beyond impressed that you figured out that pattern! I like feet pictures too – so you know where you are! or went 🙂
I’m hoping that the trousers turn out well, as the pattern instructions could not be described as easy!
wonderful corn, yum x
We love the sweetcorn. Wish we had grown more this year.
