This photo makes me smile, but not for the reason I intended. I’ve been trying to take a good photo of the soon-to-be birthday hound. She’s going to be 11, which is a good age.
I was pleased with this photo. She looked happy. Out on a walk, in the woods, with most of her pack. It wasn’t until I got home and looked a bit closer that I discovered I’d captured something even more exciting. It appears that at that exact moment, a wood sprite was riding on her back. Hand cupped, the sprite was shouting commands to the valiant and loyal steed. I quite understand. It is a distance when you are so small.
I can see these two having many adventures together.
Love the “wood sprite” on the back of your dog. She looks very happy to be out enjoying a walk 🙂
She loves a break from routine, especially with lots of her pack around her.
That is a great age – and what a super portrait of your dog with the little sprite too 🙂
Thank you! She has grown used to me pointing a camera at her.
Ha ha, a great interpretation and what a great age 11 is.
It is good for her breed.
This is a brilliant photo, Cheryl! You couldn’t recreate it so well even if you wanted to. I am forever trying to take decent photos of our dogs, but it’s not easy. I hope your hound has a very happy eleventh birthday a break from the sprite shouting in her ear!
xx
Thanks Debbie. I took a series of photos of the hound. The wood sprite only appears in a couple, fortunately. I think it’s all to do with timing when taking photos of dogs.
Ah, now I spotted the wooed sprite straight away but didn’t think of her as a wood sprite until I saw your caption. Amazing to see the active wear trend has caught on among the fairies. #MySundayphoto
We’ve moved on from medieval wear. Why shouldn’t they?
Aww he looks very happy. I love watching dogs play at country parks etc when they run around like children #MySundayPhoto
They do have fun. I know wexactly what you mean.
What a lovely looking dog, my youngest would love her
Thank you for linking up
She woud love your youngest too.
Great photo and I spotted your ‘wood sprite’ straight away. It looks suspiciously like the sprite might be taking a selfie!
Owh. I hadn’t thought of that. Or making an action movie from the vantage spot of a dog’s back.
aw, I love this beautiful dog, looking out for your family. Such a georgeous creature! 😛
She is rather special, but I am totally biased.
She is absolutely stunning, a very happy birthday! X #MySundayphoto
Thanks, Lins. She is quite a character.
Lovely dog and an amazing photo.
It is fun!
Love the wood sprite! 😀 My Mum had one of these beautiful dogs, such gentle creatures! #mysundayphoto
They certainly are.
Crikey that’s a big dog! Great photo of her x
The children thought the photo reminded them of Clifford the big red dog, except not red.
Isn’t that cute! Such a romantic notion, a wood sprite.
It made me smile, and we all need that sometimes.
Aww such a lovely picture 🙂 She looks like she is enjoying the shade. My Mollie runs from shade to shade when the sun is out 🙂
Aww fantastic photo. He looks fantastic!
You were very lucky to capture the ‘sprite’ too…I hear they are very illusive.
We just said goodbye to our little pooch three weeks ago. Thankfully we have thousands of photo’s to remember our adventures and happy times. Keep clicking away! Thanks for sharing and I wish you a great week ahead too.
Love your dog – but what is a wood sprite? WIsh I could get a better look at it.
Thats the coolest capture! I didnt see it and when I did… the photo looks really magical! #mysundayphoto
hehehe! That did make me chuckle…What a fab photo x
Happy hound equals a happy home 🙂 Lovely.
