Secret Garden Art Exhibition

I like Art Exhibitions, especially ones that encourage children to go along too. I think any event, that helps to inspire others to be creative, is worth a visit. So when I heard about this year’s Art Exhibition by the Milestones Trust, based in Bristol, it sounded right up my street (not literally!). Judging from the photos from the previous three years (here, here, here) it looks like an inspirational annual event. Can’t resist a link to their yarn-bombing a boat. So colourful!

This year’s art exhibition has a nature theme, bringing the outdoors inside.  With UK weather so cold at the moment, I’m happy to be indoors. There will be an enchanted forest of hanging trees and a needle felted sculpture trail. I know my nature-loving children will absolutely love creating the birds, flowers and tiny boats to sail.

If that’s not enough, there will be a chance to try needle-felting, knitting, photography, music making and drawing. It’s not all about knitting! A chance to create your own handcrafted piece, while surrounded by inspiration.

The charity helps to support people with learning difficulties, mental health needs and dementia, and these are the creative people who, along with professional artists, have created the exhibits.

The event starts this Saturday (13 April 2013) and goes on until the following Sunday (21st April 2013). 10:30am- 6pm at the Paintworks, Bath Road, Bristol, BS4 3EH. It’s free entry. The opening weekend has lots of family themed activities scheduled, so that’s when we’re planning to go. If you are in Bristol this weekend, why not pop in.

Expect photos next week!

    1. The description and photos have me intrigued. I’m hoping all the colours will compensate for the overcast weather we’re experiencing at the moment.
