“What kind of cake is it?”
“Mouse brain.”
“No, what kind of cake is it really?”
“Look, you can see the brains on top of the cake? They’re mouse brains.”
“Yeh. Right.”
Darn. They usually play along.
Recipe courtesy of the 1956 Aga book, that a dear friend’s mother thought I might like. She was right. The book called it a walnut cake, but I know the truth. Mouse brain cake seems more appropriate at Halloween.
Lovely looking cake….and walnuts for mouse brains what a great idea!
I was that close to colouring the icing red. 😀
Haha! Yes… yes I could see this..
Mmmm..just what I’ve been craving. Mouse brains. Oh, wait a minute. I’m vegetarian. Never mind 😳 Happy Hallow’s Eve
Great looking cake, I just love mice brains. If your kids aren’t playing along, you are going to have to be very creative to get their scary juices going. 🙂
