I love all the bank holidays that we have had recently in the UK. So many items on my To-Do List are now crossed off. Although more items have been added, but they are new and fresh items, with no dust collecting on them. Welcome inclusions.
The time off has meant that the garden has had lots of love and attention. I’ve expanded the kitchen garden again, a little bit more, giving room for more peas and cut flowers. I am eyeing up another patch. Once I’ve regained the use of my aching limbs!
We’ve taken time to spot colourful visitors to the garden, like this froghopper. Our garden is buzzing with insects. Clouds of flies are everywhere. The ground is so dry. Digging the new ground covered me in a layer of dust, each time. I’m not sure that we had a single April shower. There is more to do in the garden, but I feel that I am pretty much up to date.
So, I am grateful for the extra Bank holiday this year, thanks to the Royal Wedding. I enjoyed the celebrations more than I had imagined. It showcased the best of Britain, which has got me thinking…………, but more on that another time. It has added a few fresh items on my To-Do list.
All I need now are a few more Bank holidays, please.

Yes, the recent bank holidays have been perfect for doing a bit of catching up. Love your pictures. We haven’t seen a froghopper in our parts. I will show my insect loving son this picture. He will be interested!

We seem to have a large number of them this year. Probably the reason that we noticed them this year. The children are fascinated by the froghopper’s hop and flutter when it is disturbed.

I’ve been slow off the mark this year, as far as the garden has been concerned. Having several days in a row, in this weather, was a definite help.

He was in a compost heap that was being relocated, so I suspect that we ruined his Sunday afternoon!
We spent a Bank holiday at Greenwich a couple of years back and had the most brilliant time… with millions of other folk… WE loved it!!! And we love bank holidays too!!! We just had a spate of holidays as well and it is totally chaotic, in the best kind of way, as I try to figure out what day of the week we really are on!!!
I think I may have left you half a comment… Never mind I am losing my mind completely what with every other day being Monday and then every in between day being Saturday and yet my mom in law who comes for dinner every Wednesday actually arrived on what felt like Sunday… Clearly I am battling just a little with keeping track of all the days and with all the holidays mounting up!!!
You are not alone. Starting the week a day late always throws me. We missed swimming lessons last week as I was convinced it was another day. I think the girls have forgiven me. The mad thing is that I know that this week will seem longer than a normal week. Hope you catch up on yourself soon. Disappointed to read that you have no elephants or giraffes locally. Still, plenty of snakes and interesting mini beasts. Can’t have everything! 😀

I had to smile at all the tee-shirts and banners in the crowd saying “Thank you for the day off”. It went down well with most people. Lets hope we get one for the Diamond Jubilee next year. 🙂
