Today, TF found treasure. You might remember that a few weeks ago, he was very busy emptying the unused chicken house after a mole had filled it with earth. Since then, the chicken house has been moved, leaving a bare patch on the lawn where it stood. TF loves digging. So today, he took out his red spade and dug a hole where the mole hills had been.
I wish I had been there when he uncovered his coin. He did come rushing in to show me his 5 pence piece. It is dated 1990, which predates our move to the house. I think it has been underground for a while as it is looking quite tarnished, when it should be silver.
One thing I’m sure about is that, to a nearly three year old boy, it is big treasure. He is truly proud of it and is taking great care of it. He has shown it to everyone and told them how he found it. I love his enthusiasm and he can tell me as many times as he wants to.
Also in the garden, the Ornamental Quince which has thrived, while my Quince tree suffered from rust and never produced a single quince. Oh well, I’ll just enjoy the lovely flowers.
Treasure…!!!!
There is something magical about that word :0)
TF certainly thinks so, Val.
