We love snow here. Not that we get much, as a rule. Maybe a week or two each year. I can’t remember snow that settled in November before, but I could be wrong. This time of year tends to be stick season if you look up and mud season if you look down. Snow makes a nice change.
It started to snow just as I picked up the children from school yesterday and they were all very excited. It carried on all evening, so by the time they woke up this morning, we had a couple of centimetres of snow.
TF and BL rushed out to make a snowman. A mini snowman still requires scarf and hat. There were tears when they came in for lunch. Being only three years old, TF is fairly new to the concept of building snowmen. Every time he finishes with a game, he knows that he needs to tidy up. Yesterday, he made the mistake of leaving his coat out in the garden when it started snowing. He had to put a cold coat on which was not a pleasant experience for him. Unfortunately, with this chilly experience still in his mind, he applied the tidying up rule to their snowman. As he pulled the scarf off, the snowman’s head fell off. By the time he reached the kitchen, clutching the hat, scarf and carrot, he was a tad bemused by his sister’s tears.
Hopefully a bit more snowmen building will sort it all out. (BL soon recovered.)
On a crafty note, my Friday sewing group got off to a perfect start. The toadstools were a hit and, instead of using them as pincushions, two mothers decided they’d like to make them. I hastily had to dig out the templates. Another made a pink version of the polar bear millet bag cover, which looks so beautiful, that I’m now thinking I might make a few more in different colours. The best part for me was to share creative time with other people.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
What wonderful photos! I especially love the first photo.
I was glad to capture it, as all the children were rushing around trying to catch snowflakes in their mouths!
Love the first photo and that is an excellent snowman !!!!!
They do love making their snowmen. She doesn’t look quite so good this morning. Just a big snowball.
The photo of pure joy on your daughter’s face is magical.

BL is at the age where she sees magic almost everywhere. What a gift.
Lovely snowman, we only had a light dusting here I’m glad to say. Glad your Friday group went well.
I don’t think we were forcast for more than a flutter of snow. Suspect we got someone else’s snow.
