Today, we ventured into Bristol to the Harbour Festival. Full of interesting boats.
It was fun walking all around the harbour. There were a lot of boats. Lots of walking. Red letter day for the family as we took no buggy. TF walked most of the 2 or 3 miles around the harbour. As ever, the children were more fascinated by the surroundings than worried about the distance.

We took a ferry ride around the harbour.
The surrounding streets were full of stalls and dancing and music and crafting and people.
We went passed the building where I used to work. It has been given a facelift since I was there. It used to be grey and several floors higher. I kept fit going up all those flights of stairs. It seemed to bewilder the children that this was my old work place.
Before we left, we passed the @Bristol Planetarium. So I could not resist one last photo….
Yep. Most families tidy up and go to a smart photo studio. I thought it would be more fun to march our family around the harbour. Just until we were all thoroughly hot and tired. Then take a family photo via the side of the planetarium. Not sure why everyone doesn’t do that.
(I think they need to talk to their window cleaner. Its a bit smudgey. Won’t be able to use that photo for our family Christmas cards.)
Been reading the past couple of posts. You guys must have to be the most creative family on the planet! Love your family photo, too! We never had professional pictures done when our children were growing up. I always prefered candid shots.
Thanks, Jodi. Sometimes its the unplanned moments that capture more. I’m not sure if a studio setting would have inspired such heartfelt smiles from all the family.
Great pics! Looks like a fun day in a very interesting place. Love those rainbow houses(?) on the hill in the background. I’m so envious of your children wearing jackets! Too hot for that here. I always love coming to your blog to see your adventures.
Yes, the houses are painted different colours. So colourful. The opposite hill is called Windmill Hill and also has the same fronted houses in differrent colours going up the hill.
