We had a proper hard frost this morning. It was still there at elevenses, when I finally rushed out and took some photos. It was so cold that the little frost spikes had grown longer in the meantime.
I love the frost. It brightens up the day. Every outside surface turns white. The combination of shorter daylight hours and small cottage windows, means that the white glow reflects a very welcome brightness into our home.
I’m obviously feeling the lack of light at the moment. All my current crafting seems to involve sparkles and light. I snuggle up in the chair next to the fire each night. Subconsciously, I seem to be adding more light to my life to compensate.
I have a very sweet sequin project (see what I mean about adding sparkle) to show you soon. In the meantime, I can’t help smiling at the cabbages and brussels wearing what looks like fluffy fur trim.
So pretty! Just wish it didn’t have to be so cold for us to get all that sparkle…don’t think I have warmed up for days! 😕
It may be cold, but I still prefer it to the rain. Especially the endless rain we’ve had this year. Hope you are keeping warm.
gorgeous!
I have several rows of cabbages and brussels in the kitchen garden and they looked fabulous en masse in the frost.
Such stunning photos of the cabbages, isn’t nature so wonderful.
Thanks for the comment on the quilt. It was a long haul but worth it in the end.
I now intend to make another for one of my Grandson’s in Scotland, he’s 21 in March and I thought it would make a keepsake. Just to remember his old Nan when I’m gone. lol
Have a lovely Christmas

I think both your grandsons are very lucky. A true work of love. 🙂
