Books and Cookies on a Sunday

I love books. I love fiction and non fiction. When a new subject grabs my attention, then I buy books about it. Not just one, but several. Just looking at my felting, patchwork and knitting section, anyone can see I don’t do it by halves. As a result I have lots of books. Strangely enough, I only have one book on Feng Shui, which I re-read every now and then.

This week I have moved all the household books (I’m not the only one, in the house, who loves books) from one end of the house to the other end of the house, to make room for more professional workspace. The books are now lining one wall in the sitting room and they look great there. AJ helped to move them, with the full enthusiasm of a seven year old. She loved seeing them in the piles before they went back on the shelves. The books were easier to explore that way. We both spent some time sitting on the floor, looking through books – first time for her and rediscovering for me.

In my one and only Feng Shui book, one of the Chinese sayings in the book is, ” If you want change in your life, move 27 things in your house.” Well I haven’t counted all the books, but I’m well and truly over 27, so I guess this will count. Hope it brings a positive change.

cookies

Also made cranberry, raisin and sunflower seed cookies today. The recipe was based on these cookies, but needless to say, I didn’t have all the ingredients, so the butterscotch morsels, pecans and cinnamon were substituted. I have about half the mixture left so that I can try freezing them as emergency cookies. Another thing off my to do list.
