K is for keen.
After time spent buying uniform for the one child changing schools, we popped into a book shop …… or two, while names were embroidered on said uniform. Among the purchases, was a book on butterfly and moth identification.
Back home, the girls couldn’t wait to grab the net and butterfly house, and take them out to the meadow. Keen to improve their knowledge.

Love this, sums up my childhood in more ways than you can imagine #alphabetphoto
I hope they are memories the children will cherish in years to come.
Gorgeous photo. looks like you may have a pair of budding scientists on your hands 🙂
They are budding scientists. Good job as they don’t seem to be able to operate a hairbrush so I don’t see their future in hairdressing.
What a great way to identify them, it is very hard if you just watch them flying about! I may have to get hold of one of those nets myself, where did you get it from?
I got the butterfly pavillion from Insect Lore, years ago. It’s been useful for viewing butterflies and grasshoppers. Also used it to hold a neighbour’s escaped canary, and raised baby bats in it. Now the children would like to get butterfly caterpillars again, so I guess it will be out one more time!
One of the best K quality to have =) #alphabetphoto
They seem to have bundles of it, too!
Great photo, butterflies are always great fun to study. You got two K’s in there as well 🙂
Butterflies are wonderful to enthuse children about insects.
Such a lovely story and this photo is just wonderful in black and white. Superb idea too. Thanks for sharing with #alphabetphoto
Sometimes it just works so much better in black and white.
