In the Rainforest Biome at the Eden Project, we found rice growing. I’m not sure I’ve seen rice growing before, other than in photos. So used to seeing it as grains in a packet, rather than growing as cultivated grass.
It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for #AlphabetPhoto. Time to join in with Podcast’s linky. My R is for rice.
We have so many rice fields in our country. Rice needs a lot of water to grow. Nice to see this one! I really wanted to go to Eden Project =) #AlphabetPhoto
I know you would love it!
Lovely photo of the rice. We grow it in our region of Spain to make our wonderful paellas. All the best, Bonny
I do have vague memories of seeing in grow in Italy, but I’m not sure. Certainly not a sight I’ve seen for a long time. 🙂
Did you find the rice-plant growing in the tropical dome at the Eden Project? Last time I was in that particular dome, I was almost in my due date with little T and a staff said to me “You’re not going to give birth here, are you?” I laughed. But it was really warm and I’m used to that kind of heat 😉 Lovely photo by the way, reminds me so much of home. x
Fascinating place. Certainly warm in there and I’m not sure I would have coped at full term! Looking forward to going again and spending more time in the domes. Just amazing.
I am not sure I have ever seen rice growing either, I had not idea it look so much like a grass!
It was good to see how an every-day food grows. Familiar but not.
Interesting photo – I don’t think I have ever seen rice growing before.
Usually see the paddy fields, but not the plants close up.
I’ve never seen it in this form either! Nice photo.
Thanks. 🙂
I’ve never seen rice growing either, what a lovely photo x I would so love of visit the Eden Project x #alphabetphoto
If you ever get a chance, I can recommend a visit.
How interesting, I don’t think I have ever seen rice growing.
You’re not alone! 🙂
A stunning photo – love it! #AlphabetPhoto
Thanks. 🙂
I didn’t know rice looked like that close up. The clarity of your photo is amazing btw 😀
When I think of photos of rice growing, it tends to be of paddy fields, rather than close up.
