I’ve reached a crochet milestone. To date, I have hooked 49 granny squares. Very neat as it’s 7 x 7, my very favourite square. Everyone has a favourite square, don’t they? (hmm…suspects it’s just me.)
This is exactly 48 more squares that I have crocheted before. A huge success. I’m really enjoying making each and every one of them, but I’m still not sure I like the look. Seeing them en masse now, puts doubt in my mind whether I’m going to like this blanket.
Kind of pops my creative bubble. *sad face*
Maybe I’ll change my mind when I see it finished and wrapped around one of the children. As they dance through the orchard. Maybe its the lack of sunshine today, making the colours a little less vibrant. Maybe its the contrast to the tiled floor. Maybe.
Keep positive.
I ran out of the raspberry colour and couldn’t source more. Instead I’ve opted for a more red version of it. It appeals to my random nature. In the end it should be about half and half, which will give balance.
To celebrate there being 49 squares, I’ve given them a wooden crate to live in. Partly as the Pup keeps on stealing them to line her basket. I kid you not! I keep finding neatly pressed squares where she has been flat out on top of several of them. Maybe she’ll end up with the finished blanket.
As way of a reminder, if you’d like to join in with the very first “Here I stand” post, then leave me a comment to say where your photo is located. Before the end of tomorrow. It can be in a blog post, Instagram, etc. A summer postcard series.
