2015 Mosaic

2015 mosaic

As years go, 2015 was not a vintage one for us. Sigh. Some years just go that way. Events turn up, that you would never dream of sitting down at the beginning of the year and adding to your calendar. Nor to your list of new year resolutions. They just turn up.

It would be so easy to focus on the less than perfect times and events that popped up unexpectantly throughout the year. Letting them overshadow the wonderful moments that also happened. And they did happen. Lots of them.

The happy moments may have been less momentous, but if they were all piled up on top of each other, I reckon they would add up to something of equal stature. Probably greater.

So this post is dedicated to them. All the good things. Not that I’m brushing everything else under the carpet. It’s just right to give them space too.

Seems a perfect year for a photo mosaic. A gentle reminder of good things.  One photo from each month. Not as easy a task as I first imagined. August was down to a flip of the coin by the end.

Also I snuck two extra ones in.

music appreciationA photo that didn’t make it into a post last year, but makes me smile. For so many wonderful reasons.

And one more. This photo is how I’d like to remember our year. Adventure, pushing limits and growing.

So, sleeves rolled up. I’m ready to see where 2016 takes us. Warts and all. Because for all those moments that didn’t go the way we would have liked, I know there will be many more times that make us smile.

To all my readers, whether you:

leave comments (and, boy, do they lift spirits when I need it, and encourage me on in my crafting pursuits)

or not (we can still be friends, right?)

or just pop in once to check out a recipe (hope I helped)

“I’d like to wish you all a happy new year and thank you for visiting this space. You wonderful people.”

  1. I love your mosaic, I struggled with a couple of months for mine too, I seemed to take far less photos in the months I stopped blogging! I hope 2016 is your year of adventure, trying to work out where the last photo is taken, the Langdales somewhere?

    1. Thank you. I had too much choice for some months and was tempted to bump a few onto the next month. The last photo was taken as we came down from Angle Tarn. Such a striking view as we came round the corner. I’m not surprised Eldest decided to climb.

  2. Happy New Year, may 2016 have less bumps in the road. I read your blog through Feedly and thoroughly enjoy it. Thank you.

    1. Ah! Thank you for commenting. Wonderful to be able to say hello to you, Sarah! I read a lot of blogs through Feedly too. Happy New Year.
