Mouse brain cake

“What kind of cake is it?”

“Mouse brain.”

“No, what kind of cake is it really?”

“Look, you can see the brains on top of the cake? They’re mouse brains.”

“Yeh. Right.”

Darn. They usually play along.

Recipe courtesy of the 1956 Aga book, that a dear friend’s mother thought I might like. She was right. The book called it a walnut cake, but I know the truth. Mouse brain cake seems more appropriate at Halloween.
