Time out

So the weekend has passed. My big girl inspired me. Her homework required a game to be made. We spent so much time designing, glueing, wordprocessing and getting behind the maths. I loved joining her in her creativity.

It left time for little else. I was thankful for my meal planning as the house ran smoothly. I’ve promised myself that the other two children will get extra with me, soon. Throughout it, I also fought a cold that has been looming and now has landed. With a thump.

Today, I’m taking care of me. When I decided to join Maureen in her “Taking care of mama” series, I planned more progressive actions. Only actions that moved me forward in a fresh, positive way, but today I need to take a step back and just take care of me. So I’m taking it easy, sipping warmed elderberry syrup and making the most of a heated millet bag. Good job we have nothing planned for Valentine’s Day.

(Oh and just a little knitting)

    1. I’m hoping these colds shift quickly, too. No time to feel sorry for myself for too long. AJ loved taking her game into school and playing it with friends.

    1. Imagine snakes and ladders meets dominos. The exercise is to recognise a fraction written as a decimal, a percentage or another fraction. Each player has a potion ingredient list, but the quantities have been ommitted. As they match the fraction or decimal on their cards to the pictorial representation of a fraction on the square they land on, they write the fraction against an ingredient. The winner is the first to finish their potion list or reach the end. AJ’s rules are fun, but that is the basic outline. She used a magical theme, so definitely fantastic!
