Feeling distracted

I am obviously feeling distracted today. Do you ever head off to do one thing and end up doing something totally different? Walk into a room and then forget why you went in there? I’m juggling too many things in my head. Something has to give.

I went out into the garden to get some teasels.

I found a surprising new crop of peas starting to flower and a few well formed pods.

Oh, and TF can vouch that they taste just as sweet as the last crop.

I went out to fetch the dry laundry in.

Returned with a handful of glowing raspberries.

I went out to find runner beans for supper.

I filled my basket with beautiful, sweet apples. It took two baskets to carry all the apples into the house. We had courgettes for supper instead.

Incidently, I found this over on another lunch. Why have I not seen this idea before? Such a neat solution for children taking apples to school.

Wobbly and missing teeth can make a whole apple challenging. I tested this on all three of my children and they each ate all the apple. It works. No half eaten apples left lying around.

They think it is cool. So do I!

So there you are. Now what was I doing?

    1. Hi angelina. I’m glad you enjoyed the post. It really does sum up my day. So much to see and do. It really is easy to get distracted, at the moment. You’re absolutely right about seeing the beauty in wandering. Have a good weekend.

  2. Wow, great pics! Especially love the last one, what an interesting flower. At least you are still productive when you get distracted. I feel like I can waste whole days with my distractions. Your posts always make me wish I had nurtured our garden more this summer. Love the apple trick (but does the apple not turn brown by lunch time? Do you keep it in something to keep the air out in the lunchbox?)

    1. Hi Casey. I need to give it a time test, but I reckon it would limit the browning effect. When I put the apple together again (like a jigsaw) the apple was moist so it kind of suckered (that is not a word, is it? Like a sucker pad) together forming a tight, sealed join. This would limit its exposure to air and cut out the browning. I’m guessing the success of this would depend on the type of apple and assembling it again quickly and accurately. I usually use lemon juice (I’ve heard of pineapple and grape juice as well) to stop it browning, but it does changes the taste. The apples from this particular tree are yummy on their own, so I’m really pleased to find this solution. I’m going to experiment some more.

Almost forgot to say that the last flower is a Tom Thumb fuschia.

      1. Hey Cheryl, Going to see Montessori this Weds…feel so much calmer now the desicion has been made. Three is such a tiny number and that’s all he is, these days they pass so fast! xx
