Spring top for a teen

I’m over as a guest on Minerva Crafts today, with this lovely top I made for my eldest teen. Lacy fabric coupled with, and breathing fresh life into, an upcycled fabric I had in my stash.  A perfect spring combination. The lace is soft to sew and wear, which suited us both fine. More photos, on their blog today.

  1. That’s a lovely colour Cheryl, wouldn’t it be great if more people made their own clothes rather than endlessly buying poor quality ones from stores. The art of sewing , knitting and creating is a dying one so I think it’s lovely that you are keeping it alive. #MMBC

    1. Oh, thank you Angela. I couldn’t agree more with you. There are so many good reasons for making your own clothes. The list is endless. I do like that she can be involved in the design. I can imagine if you follow fashion, then wearing something that everyone knows was in the shops months ago, must encourage a disposable behaviour. Teens don’t dodge this kind of judgment. Not one bit. By designing her own she can wear something she likes and it won’t age in the same way. Less is definitely more. Big plus for me is that I can spend time working on a creative project with my eldest teen. Definite win-win.
