Sunday Photo: After the rain

First proper rain we’ve had for a while. I’m a fair weather gardener. Meant less time weeding than I planned today, but the water butts are topped up. The sun is out, catching the rain drops on every surface. Including Nature’s own pompoms. Weird but wonderful. Feels like it could shake the droplets away, any minute.

Alpine Anemone. In case you are wondering.

It looked like this a month or so ago.

Sigh. How time flies.

These are a delight to the eyes and a lovely capture of rain. I was trying to explain to my eldest that rain was like a drink to the flowers. #MySundayPhoto

Thank you for your comment on the elm seed. I don’t know what part of the country you live in but down here in th south east we have lots of Elms. We did have a problem with Dutch Elm Disease and still do to some extent but here where I live they treated a lot of the trees and saved them. At the moment they all seem to be producing seed and the place is swirling with huge swathes of seeds. very pretty when its windy.
Also the shape of theis tree is beautiful if left to grow to its natural size.
At this moment we are getting some much needed rain, lets hope it keeps up for a while longer.

I remember the elm trees being felled back in the 70s. Different area to us now, but I don’t think I’ve seen any round here.
