Here I am: On the dunes at Burnham-on-Sea

sea rocketHere I am. Standing in the dunes at Burnham. One of my favourite places to take the dogs for a walk. The tide is out, so the sand seems vast. Giving plenty of room for the Pup to run.

Room for everyone to run.

running on the beach at BurnhamIt’s beautiful. One of those days I’d love for them to remember for ever. When they look back, I hope they will recall their childhood as one full of days just like this one.

The boy and the Pup on Burnham beachWhen the sun shone and nothing stood in their way of fun. A totally care free day. To play.

family on beach at BurnhamI’m getting used to seeing them disappear into the distance. Intent on exploring.

art and nature studies in the dunesTime to explore the dunes, hunt for lizards and create sand art.

Burnham LighthouseWe love to walk on this part of the beach, throughout the year. Parking is easy. The beach is quiet. Only fellow dog walkers enjoying the space and a chance for dogs to socialize.

Oh, and my children running, playing and being children.

    1. Yes. I think their independence creeps up on you. Very happy to see them enjoying themselves in such a beautiful, natural place.

  1. There is nothing quite like the feeling of sand between your toes. You were lucky to have so much space to yourselves. Our dog would love it. I love the idea of your here I am posts – much more comfortable with that than a selfie 🙂

  2. What a gorgeous place to spend time exploring together. I bet your children will remember these days of free fun and play. It looks perfect.
