End of year gifts

painted pots teacher giftsThe children love to give a thank you present to their teachers, at the end of the year. Each year, I wrack my brain for the perfect homemade gift. One that will allow all of the children, whatever their age, to produce something that they are proud to give. Hmm…

This year, I took them to our local lavender farm. Each carefully chose a lavender plant. One that they thought their teacher would like. They enjoyed reading the names of each different type. Lots of laughter. Lots of interest in the varieties.

Yesterday, they painted lavender flowers on to the side of terracotta pots, with a thank you message to each of their teachers. With the greatest of care, they transferred the lavender plants into their decorated pots.

They’ll take their gifts in to school today. A simple gift, but one that the children have made their own. Ready to give to their teachers. A perfect “Thank you”.

(Just realised that this is probably the last time all three of them will be making gifts for teachers.)

    1. I’m sure the teachers can find a space for a pot of lavender. Like to avoid chocolates, as I’m sure it is a popular gift.
