Weekend Musings

Weekend musings:

1.  Loved making the little knitted robin, but I could not imagine making lots of identical birds. They would all have to be different.

2. Out of all the seeds I sow each Spring, it is the cucumber seedling that is the most exciting to see emerge. At the beginning of winter, I am relieved not to be gardening, and tell myself that I’ll cut back next year. Each Spring, I cannot wait to plant the kitchen garden up again. My head full of thoughts of lunches straight from the garden. Turns out it is not only the garden that needs a rest in winter. Me too! I need that hungry gap to appreciate the new growth.

3. Sometimes I need to put the instructions away and just do. The instructions can put the brakes on a project and bog me down. When I let go, I find interesting results happen just through experimenting. (Woad dying wool)

4. The first 10 minutes of my day seem to be my most creative ideas time. Maybe its the quietest time and I can just concentrate on the problem. (Eureka! I have fabric to use as lining in my stash! No need to shop.)

5. Thankful for getting back to my car in time, after buying the wool for my blanket border. Found the car 10 metres away from 4 cars and a hedge on fire. Who knew yarn shopping could be so risky!

6. I can still play badminton! As the children grow, so do their interests. This Spring is going to be full of bike rides, badminton matches and football goals. I feel like I’ve cast off my winter coat and come out of hibernation.

How was your weekend?

  1. Goodness! The robin is spectacular. If that’s what coming out of hibernation inspires… I need to wake up. Glad you were able to save the car. That could have been a spendy blanket border. 🙂

    Blessings, Debbie
